Helix is built in the open, and help is welcome.
Report a difference from vanilla
Anything that behaves differently from BDS is a bug. Open an issue with what BDS does, what Helix does instead, and how to see it.
Contribute code
- Read your first contribution, step by step.
- Read the contributing guide.
- Clone the repos you work on side by side in one folder, as described in SETUP.md.
A few rules apply everywhere:
- Behaviour must match BDS, checked against Mojang’s data or the real server, never guessed from memory or the wiki.
- Code never panics: bad input returns an error.
- Every commit is signed and signed off (
git commit -S -s). - Changes that affect the running server are tested in game by a person before they are merged.
Using AI tools
AI-assisted contributions are welcome. The person running the tool is responsible for everything it produces. See the AI policy.
