Turn on vanilla: world generation, mobs, villages, redstone, the Nether and the End, all working exactly as in BDS.
BDS, but better!
An open-source Minecraft: Bedrock Edition server engine, written in Go. The same mechanics as the official server, with access to everything from the lowest level to the highest.

No Bedrock server software matches BDS one-to-one yet. Helix aims to be the first, and to stay out of your way when you want something else.
Turn on vanilla: world generation, mobs, villages, redstone, the Nether and the End, all working exactly as in BDS.
Turn vanilla off, keep the fast core, and write your own rules. Even the engine's fundamentals can be replaced.
Behaviour matches the official Bedrock Dedicated Server exactly, checked against the real server, not the wiki.
Every part of the engine is reachable and replaceable through the API, from packets and chunks up to gameplay.
Villagers, redstone, world generation and commands are built on the same API plugins use. Switch any of them off.
Regions tick in parallel and you choose how many cores Helix uses. Hot paths don't allocate.
Blocks, items, recipes, loot and entities load from Mojang's own data files instead of being hard-coded.
Written in Go with a strict no-panic rule. Bad input returns an error, and a broken plugin never takes the server down.
The core design is decided and the engine is being built. Players can already join, spawn in a BDS world, see each other and use their inventory.
Helix is built in the open. AI-assisted contributions are welcome under our AI policy.
